Wadani Relief Organization (WARO) is committed to protecting the lives, health, and rights of women and girls by promoting safe pregnancy, quality maternal healthcare, respectful childbirth, and essential newborn care, particularly among vulnerable and underserved communities in Somalia. We work with communities, healthcare partners, and global movements to prevent avoidable maternal and newborn deaths and ensure every woman has a healthy pregnancy, every mother receives dignified care, and every baby has the opportunity to survive and thrive.
Wadani Relief Organization (WARO) works to improve maternal, newborn and child health in vulnerable communities across Somalia, with a strong focus on safe pregnancy, quality antenatal and postnatal care, skilled birth attendance, and newborn survival. The program promotes maternal health awareness, early identification of pregnancy complications, timely referrals, maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and essential newborn care. WARO prioritizes women and girls in rural, IDP, and underserved communities who face barriers to accessing healthcare. Through community mobilization, health education, partnerships with healthcare facilities, and referral support, WARO aims to prevent avoidable maternal and newborn deaths and ensure every pregnancy is safe and every mother and baby receives the care they deserve.
