2025
Progress has been made.
But not for every mother.
2025, was the year when For Mama became something more than a campaign. It became Every Pregnancy: a faith-led movement built on partnership, and a shared belief that no woman should die in pregnancy and childbirth.
This transformation unfolded during a moment of profound global contradiction, marked by both encouragement and devastation. New global data showed that fewer women are dying during pregnancy and childbirth (WHO, 2025). But progress is slowing and it is not equal. Mothers in Muslim-majority countries are not seeing the same gains, and in many places the gap is widening.

Mothers & babies under attack
Inequality has become impossible to ignore.
This year, moms and babies were not only affected by crisis, but actively targeted.
This year, moms and babies were not only affected by crisis, but actively targeted.
In places like Sudan and Palestine, hospitals were hit, births took place under siege and displacement, and moms and babies paid the price. In other countries, structural discrimination means that black or brown mothers face more than double the risk of dying during pregnancy or childbirth compared to white mothers.

This moment demands a different kind of response. One that brings all of us together to act as one for moms and babies, in a way that has never been done before.

What Collective Action Made
Possible in 2025
In just one year, our coalition demonstrated what becomes possible when a fragmented ecosystem begins to move together.
Our success is the success of our 50 partner organizations. Our partners unlocked more donations and worked together to leverage each other’s strengths, so that more mothers and babies were reached with better care.
Our annual convening brought Muslim organizations, scholars, innovators, advocates, and clinicians to problem solve and innovate together. Disruptive conversations were driven by our 12 ambassadors and facilitated at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and World Health Assembly (WHA).
This did not go unnoticed: people from over 80 countries visited our website and engaged with us via social media.

THE RESULT?
Mothers’ health and wellbeing has become a topic of discussion among policy makers, youth, and at family dinner tables.
