Our mission is to combat maternal anemia and unsafe delivery practices by providing free birth kits and iron injections, ensuring healthier outcomes for mothers and newborns worldwide.
Sakinah Health Foundation protects mothers and newborns in rural Pakistan, where skilled care and cold-chain medicines rarely reach. Through the Sakinah Method, pregnant women are registered and screened for anemia at booking, anemic mothers receive IV ferric carboxymaltose before birth, and every supported birth uses a $6 clean birth kit that includes misoprostol. Traditional midwives, the women communities already trust, are trained to use every item in the kit, and each mother is followed up by phone at one week, six weeks and one year. The full package costs $27.70 per mother. Across 5,327 births studied, the program recorded zero maternal deaths (AJOG Global Reports, 2026).
