Afghan Relief delivers humanitarian assistance and sustainable development programs to improve the lives of vulnerable communities across Afghanistan. We meet urgent needs, support orphans, empower women, and expand access to clean water, food, education, healthcare—including maternal and infant health—and livelihood opportunities that help families build lasting self-reliance. Guided by compassion, integrity, and a commitment to human dignity, we work to ensure every Afghan not only survives—but thrives.
Afghan Relief’s maternal, newborn, and child health program helps women in Kunar access care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery. Through the Maternal Health Center and a remote satellite facility, we provide prenatal and postnatal care, high-risk pregnancy screening, safe delivery support, nutrition counseling, breastfeeding guidance, and psychosocial support. We also support midwifery education and supervised clinical training for women, strengthening local healthcare capacity. Female healthcare providers and coordinated referrals help women receive timely treatment, while newborn care, childhood immunization, and malnutrition screening protect children’s health and help reduce preventable illness and deaths.
