Hello! My name is Jenan Matari, and I am a Palestinian American writer, creator, and mother. 

While I anxiously wait for my own baby to arrive in October, I can’t help but think of those mothers and babies who are unable to get the care they deserve. 

As you read this: 

  • There are 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza.
  • Less than half of the hospitals there are even partially functioning.
  • More than 92% of young children and pregnant or breastfeeding women are not getting enough nutrients due to extreme food shortages.


A Gift for Those in Desperate Need

Because of this incredible need, instead of creating a registry of gifts for my baby shower, I’m partnering with Every Pregnancy to raise funds for mothers and babies. 

Every Pregnancy currently has 14 partner organizations working in Gaza. They provide comprehensive maternal and reproductive health services, including: 

  • Antenatal and Postnatal Care
  • Safe Deliveries
  • Reproductive Health Consultations
  • Medical Supplies
  • Healthcare Worker Capacity Building 
  • Mental Health Support for Mothers
