A Healthy Future for Moms & Babies in Mali
Mali has made important gains in child survival over the past two decades, yet mothers and newborns continue to face some of the world’s highest health risks. A woman in Mali is over 100 times more likely to die giving birth than a woman in a high-income country.
Persistent gaps in health infrastructure, limited numbers of skilled birth attendants, and challenges in antenatal and postnatal care contribute to preventable deaths, particularly in rural areas and regions affected by conflict and displacement.
Across Mali, local authorities, midwives, community health workers, and women’s groups are taking action to change this, promoting early antenatal care, safe delivery practices, and better newborn nutrition. Every Pregnancy partners are working with these local actors to introduce a package of comprehensive safe pregnancy and delivery services, especially for displaced mothers and their host communities.
Donate today, your contribution helps sustain this momentum, enabling women, families, and health workers to build a healthier future for mothers and babies in Mali.
