Our Mission

Every Pregnancy is a bold, partner-driven initiative dedicated to saving the lives of mothers and babies globally. Despite advancements in maternal health care, nearly 800 women die every day from preventable pregnancy complications. These lives are not just statistics — they are mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends who could have been saved with timely interventions.

No woman should have to die giving life. Yet, the reality is that where a woman lives, how much she earns, or what value her community places on her life, too often determine whether she lives or dies in childbirth. This is a profound failure of justice.

At Every Pregnancy we are changing this. We connect voices from the most affected communities with changemakers worldwide, fostering collaboration and scaling holistic maternal health interventions that are culturally sensitive and scientifically proven. Our coalition spans 40+ faith-inspired organizations that first came together in 2023 and are united in our commitment to making every pregnancy safe.

Our History

Every Pregnancy channels the power of previously untapped faith-based communities to strengthen access to high-quality maternal and newborn health care. It began with a bold vision: to unite Muslim philanthropies, advocates, and communities in a shared commitment to mothers and babies’ health.

While mothers are central to the Islamic faith and cultural identity, their health and well-being had never been mobilized as a collective cause by the community. Recognizing this gap, Dr. Alaa Murabit conceptualized a pioneering Muslim philanthropic collaborative fund to advance women’s and children’s health, creating For Mama. This initiative has since evolved into Every Pregnancy, led by Isra Chaker, who continues to expand its reach and impact in maternal and child health.

Beginning in 2023, months of strategic planning and deep engagement with Muslim leaders, donors, and organizations shaped the blueprint of For Mama—an initiative that asked the world to consider: What can we do—for mama? In the inaugural campaign over Ramadan in 2024, faith-inspired philanthropies and donors came together like never before, raising over $13 million for maternal health programs. The campaign not only mobilized funds but sparked a global conversation, with voices from 130+ countries advocating for the right of every mother to survive childbirth. For the first time, Muslim philanthropies in North America and the UK unified their efforts, for mothers.

Building on this unprecedented success, For Mama grew into Every Pregnancy — a global, partnership-driven organization committed to reshaping the maternal health landscape for years to come. We are scaling our impact, bringing together diverse communities, using science- based solutions and innovations to reach mothers affected by discrimination, conflict, climate-change and conflict. In this next chapter, we welcome new partnerships, in new regions, ensuring that every mother, everywhere, has access to the care she deserves.

Organizations across the US, UK, Canada, Pakistan, and Yemen have come together in a collective effort to improve maternal and newborn health. This unprecedented coalition brings together organizations that had never before collaborated on this urgent issue.

Launched the groundbreaking ‘For Mama Challenge’ during Ramadan.

In 2024, we mobilized over $13 million to directly support maternal health initiatives rooted in Muslim communities. This campaign created a powerful movement, engaging faith leaders, advocates, and donors to stand in solidarity with mothers.
