Our Mission
Every Pregnancy is a bold, partner-driven initiative dedicated to saving the lives of mothers and babies globally. Despite advancements in maternal health care, nearly 800 women die every day from preventable pregnancy complications. These lives are not just statistics — they are mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends who could have been saved with timely interventions.
No woman should have to die giving life. Yet, the reality is that where a woman lives, how much she earns, or what value her community places on her life, too often determine whether she lives or dies in childbirth. This is a profound failure of justice.
At Every Pregnancy we are changing this. We connect voices from the most affected communities with changemakers worldwide, fostering collaboration and scaling holistic maternal health interventions that are culturally sensitive and scientifically proven. Our coalition spans 65+ faith-inspired organizations that first came together in 2023 and are united in our commitment to making every pregnancy safe.
Our History
In June 2023, Isra Chaker launched For Mama, a grassroots campaign built on a simple conviction: no mother should die giving life, and no community should accept that outcome as inevitable. The campaign mobilized faith communities around maternal and newborn health, translating an issue too often treated as a clinical statistic into a moral responsibility that donors, imams, clinicians and families could act on together.
Months of strategic planning and deep engagement with Muslim leaders, donors, and organizations shaped the blueprint of For Mama — an initiative that asked the world to consider: What can we do — for mama? In the inaugural campaign over Ramadan in 2024, faith-inspired philanthropies and donors came together like never before, raising over $13 million for maternal health programs. The campaign sparked a global conversation, with voices from 130+ countries advocating for the right of every mother to survive childbirth. For the first time, Muslim philanthropies in North America and the UK unified their efforts, for mothers.
What began as a campaign quickly outgrew its own container. Partners across continents wanted a durable home for the work, funders wanted a Zakat-compliant vehicle they could trust, and frontline organizations wanted coordination rather than competition. In January 2025, Isra Chaker founded Every Pregnancy, establishing it as an independent organization with its own governance, partner network and Zakat-approved funding model. She serves as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Every Pregnancy is deliberately built as a collaborative rather than a single implementer. It pools Zakat-eligible capital, routes it directly to trusted local providers, and holds the network to shared standards of transparency and outcome reporting — so that donors can trust exactly where their giving goes and the impact it creates.
We are scaling our impact, bringing together diverse communities and using science-based solutions and innovations to reach mothers affected by discrimination, conflict, and climate change. In this next chapter, we welcome new partnerships, in new regions, ensuring that every mother, everywhere, has access to the care she deserves.
