Heartbeat of Hope: Saving Refugee Newborns
Every newborn deserves the chance to thrive, no matter their circumstances. SRD is committed to improving the health outcomes of refugee infants in Turkey by ensuring critical healthcare, nutritional support, support for their mothers and timely interventions for high-risk newborns.
Many newborns in Türkiye are born with undiagnosed heart and hearing conditions, leading to preventable disabilities and loss of life. SRD is ensuring at-risk babies get the specialized care they need. Through early screenings, medical referrals, and life-changing surgeries, this program is giving fragile newborns a second chance. The team also supports mothers with breastfeeding guidance and hygiene supplies, making sure every baby gets a strong, healthy start.
